R.D. Olson Construction Completes San Juan Capistrano's First Hotel in More Than 20 Years

R.D. Olson Construction is proud to announce the completion of the Residence Inn by Marriott in San Juan Capistrano, California. It is only the second hotel within the city limits and the first to be built in more than 20 years. The 91,500 square foot Mission-style hotel opens to guests today, and is located between the world-famous San Juan Capistrano Mission and Doheny State Beach.

In all, the hotel provides 130 suites, including 104 studios, 12 one-bedroom suites, and 14 two-bedroom suites. Among the many guest amenities are 1,300 square-feet of meeting space and a 300-square-foot high-tech boardroom; a 1,000-square-foot fitness center fitted with state-of-the-art equipment; a putting green, fire pit and resort-style solar-heated pool sitting atop the edge of a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

With architectural design by Awbrey Cook McGill Architects, and interior design by Kling/Barta Design, LLC, the San Juan Capistrano hotel also unveils the newest generation of the Residence Inn brand, known as Possibilities.

"Marriott  has enjoyed a long relationship with RD Olson Construction. We have a high degree of  trust and confidence in their team to deliver high quality projects, on time and on budget every time. They treat every project like it's their own and deliver time and time again, award winning hotels," said Eric B. Jacobs, Chief Development Officer, North America Select Service and Extended Stay Hotels Marriott International.

R.D. Olson Construction also completed a new Courtyard by Marriott in Oceanside, CA just three months ago and is currently under construction on two others in California and one in Hawaii. Additionally, the company is currently building a 249-room hotel in Carlsbad and making major renovations to the popular Westin Gaslamp Quarter Hotel in San Diego and the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.
